Your Driving Test is in 2 parts:
1:The Theory/Hazard Perception Test:
The Theory Test is based on the Highway Code. You have to pass this test before applying for a Practical Test date. You are required to answer 50 questions, of which 43 or more need to be answered correctly to Pass.
The Pass Rate is 85%. We will assist you with your Theory by monitoring your progress weekly and providing you with all the resources you will need. The Hazard Perception Test involves watching video clips and indicating when you observe what you recognise as a hazard. You will need access to a computer to practice for this test. You will need 44 out of 77 marks to pass this test.
The cost of the combined Theory/Hazard Perception test is currently £31
2:The Practical Test:
The practical test assesses your driving skills and usually lasts between 40 and 45 minutes. The route usually involves a variety of town and country driving. It also includes dual carriageway roads so that you can demonstrate your skills of driving above 30 m.p.h. You will also be asked to demonstrate two of the four slow manoeuvres.
We will instruct you on all aspects of the skills required to enable you to drive safely and prepare you for your test. We will help you to develop these skills at a rate which suits your abilities and requirements.
You will also be asked to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) and asked two “show me, tell me” questions. These require you to explain to your driving test examiner where and how to check tyres, brakes, fluid levels, lights, direction indicators and horn
